Hats designed by Philip Treacy
Now THESE are the hats that I would have loved to see decked out on the heads of the ladies at the royal wedding!! Renowned milliner Philip Treacy created hats for 36 guests who attended the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton, including the now infamous hat worn by Princess Beatrice and other guests shown at bottom of post.

Wouldn't it have been lovely to see these hats at the wedding?

When asked about hats made for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Treacy replied, “My inspiration was beauty and elegance it’s a 21st century royal wedding... No, they didn’t tell me [what they wanted] because I’ve known them for a long time and I wanted them to look gorgeous and beautiful. They trusted me to make them. Gorgeous and beautiful can be open to interpretation … I thought they looked gorgeous and beautiful. But no one is crying if anyone didn’t.” (Hollywood Life)

Where were the great hats for the Royal Wedding?
Here are some examples of what I'd hoped to see...
The following are some of the hats spotted at the wedding,
the day when even a dog had more fashion than a princess...

Princess Letizia of SpainPerhaps the fact that her outfit looked Edwardian
earned her top marks with me?!
Queen Elizabeth II / Carole Middleton / Princess Michael of Kent

Daughters of Charles, Earl of Spencer / Duchess of Cornwall

Lorna Brooking / Lady Helen Taylor / Princess Ameerah of Saudi Arabia

Queen Sofia of Spain / Sophie, Lady Windsor / Princess Victoria of Sweden

Joss Stone / Grand Duchess of Luxembourg / Princess Mathilde of Belgium

Katharine, Duchess of Kent
WHAT was Princess Beatrice thinking? Besides being a fashion miss, how were guests supposed to be able to converse with her
and not be distracted by the monstrosity on her head?

Queen Margrethe of Denmark / Chelsea Davy / Victoria Beckham

Wave goodbye to fashion...

And yes, even a dog (spotted on the sidelines of the wedding route)
was able to show more style sporting her tiara
than the princess 5th in line to the throne...
