We already heard about Firth and Diaz being cast but today, news of new cast members!
Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay will appear in a remake of Gambit, the 1966 British comedy caper, to be directed by Michael Hoffman (The Last Station).
Cloris Leachman and Stanley Tucci have also joined the cast.
Screenplay by: Joel and Ethan Coen
Plot: The film centres on Harry Deane (Firth), a London art curator who enlists a Texas Rodeo Queen PJ Puznowski (Diaz) in a scheme to con Lord Shahbandar (Rickman), the richest man in England. Sir Tom Courtenay will step into the role of The Major.
The original film (which starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine) was told in a reverse chronological order, with a twist at the beginning of the story that is not revealed until the end, resulting in a punchline. It was advertised with the headline, "Go Ahead Tell The End - It's Too Hysterical To Keep Secret - But Please Don't Tell The Beginning!"
Filming expected to take place in London in May with the film to be released sometime in 2012.
