A Star is Born to be remade with Beyoncé

Beyoncé Knowles has confirmed that she'll be acting in the upcoming remake of A Star is Born, to be directed by Clint Eastwood. The film tells the story of an aspiring young actress meeting and marrying an established Hollywood movie star, whose career collapses and he sinks into alcoholism as her career takes off. Leo Dicaprio has been rumoured to be considering the role opposite Beyoncé. To be produced by Jon Peters who also produced the 1976 remake which starred his girlfriend at the time, Barbara Streisand.

Due to begin filming this autumn with a release date set for 2012.
